- Inspect the outdoor condenser. Periodically check the outdoor condenser for any obstructions that vegetation or yard tools or toys may create. The condenser needs a two-foot space around its perimeter to run efficiently. The coils should be cleaned, as well, using a light spray with the hose to remove dust accumulations.
