HVAC Rebates You Should Know

HVAC Rebates You Should KnowWith the intense cooling season up ahead, using HVAC rebates provides an excellent financial incentive to tend to your cooling system or make improvements to cut those A/C bills. Besides taking the edge off the costs of improvements, you’ll enjoy lower cooling and heating bills throughout the year.

Arizona Public Service (APS) has a package of rebates available for homeowners who:

  • Install a new energy efficient central air conditioner or heat pump. The installation must be completed by an approved contractor, one of whom is Hansberger Refrigeration and Electric Company in Yuma. The maximum rebate of $245 must be submitted to APS by the contractor after they install the system according to APS Quality Installation Standards.
  • Schedule home energy audits. APS customers who have an energy audit performed by a licensed professional can receive rebates when they seal air leaks throughout the home’s envelope, the ductwork, and add insulation to their homes. Homeowners taking advantage of these rebates will receive a 75 percent discount on the cost, with a cap of $250.
  • Seal the ducts. Ductwork leakage wastes energy in proportion to the size of the leaks. The contractor uses special equipment to test the ducts to determine the amount and location of the leaks. APS is offering HVAC rebates up to $400 for testing and sealing. Signs of loose or damaged ducts include rooms that are hard to cool and heat, dirty insulation near or on the ducts, or signs of excessive dust buildup around the registers.
  • Have the HVAC system tuned up. When you choose an approved contractor, APS will provide a $95 rebate for an advanced tune-up. This servicing goes beyond the services normally provided during annual servicing, including deep coil cleaning, digital measurements of refrigerant levels, and testing airflow and temperature drops throughout the home.

These HVAC rebates from APS will help you cut the cost of keeping your home comfortable this summer. If you’d like more information about taking advantage of them, contact Hansberger Refrigeration and Electric Company today, providing trusted HVAC services for Yuma-area homeowners.
