The refrigerant gas travels through a copper tube to your outside unit’s compressor. Your compressor acts like a huge electric pump, pressurizing the refrigerant and sending it into the condenser coil, where it’s exposed to outdoor air. The AC works to pull outdoor air through the coil by a large fan absorbs the refrigerant’s heat and releases it outside. During the process, the refrigerant changes back from gas to liquid.
The cold refrigerant flows back to the indoor unit to absorb more heat. This cycle continues until your indoor temperature reaches your preferred level.
